Zempin Dog Beach

Zempin · Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

Description

The seaside resort of Zempin lies in the north of the Baltic island of Usedom in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania between Zinnowitz and Koserow. It is located at the narrowest point connecting the Baltic Sea with the Achterwasser. Zempin is the smallest seaside resort on the island of Usedom. The seaside resort used to be a fishing village. The Zempin dog beach is located a bit to the south at the end of the main beach. You and your four-legged friends will find a wide Baltic beach with the fine sand typical of Usedom. In season, beach chairs can also be rented. Near the Zempin dog beach you will find a public restroom as well as food and drink options. The parking lot is approx. 500 meters from the Zempin dog beach. Visitors online describe the dog beach as relatively large and clean. It is criticized for being somewhat remote and for not having enough parking spaces available. | Parking: approx. 500 meters | Beach fee person/dog: Yes/No | Beach/water type: Sandy beach/shallow water | Restrooms available: Yes | Food and drink: Yes | Leash required on beach: No

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

Leashes are required statewide at public events such as fairs, in shops and zoos, and anywhere you cannot easily avoid other people. Forests: leash required year-round. Cities and municipalities may set stricter rules; on buses and trains the transport operator's terms apply.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
