Trassenheide Dog Beach

Trassenheide · Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

Description

The Baltic resort of Trassenheide is located on the Baltic Sea island of Usedom. It is one of the smaller seaside resorts on the island of Usedom and lies between Zinnowitz and Karlshagen. Going by the number of beach sections, Trassenheide is the ideal vacation destination for a vacation with a dog. Unfortunately, though, the picture is clouded by the general leash requirement throughout the town and also at the dog beach. Here, everyone has to decide for themselves whether they want to spend the day at the beach with the dog on a leash. From April 1 to October 31, between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., you may only enter the dog beach with your dog, and only via the signposted beach access points. Outside of these times, a walk on the beach is also possible. As described above, however, always on a leash. You may enter the following areas with your dog: The dog beaches are located once in the northern direction (riding and dog beach, nudist) and in the southern direction (dog beach + nudist). As is usual on Usedom, the beaches consist of fine white sand, and the water in the coastal area is not particularly deep. To use Hundestrand Trassenheide, you must pay a fee for yourself and for your dog.

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

Leashes are required statewide at public events such as fairs, in shops and zoos, and anywhere you cannot easily avoid other people. Forests: leash required year-round. Cities and municipalities may set stricter rules; on buses and trains the transport operator's terms apply.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
