Pelzerhaken is a district of the town of Neustadt in Holstein. The Pelzerhaken dog beach is located near the Pelzerhaken lighthouse. This is the largest dog beach in Pelzerhaken. You will find the dog beach at beach access points 12 to 13. This beach is a sandy beach with shallow Baltic Sea water. As is common on the Baltic coast, there may be more stones on the beach or in the water. Visitors describe the dog beach as clean and not too crowded. Unfortunately, there are said to be no showers nearby. In season, there are also said to be some beach chairs for rent. Parking lots are located on Dünenweg. The parking lot is about 500 meters away. You will find another small dog beach near Eschenweg. Pelzerhaken allows visitors with dogs general beach access from October 1 to April 30. During this time, extended beach walks can be taken. Breeding & nesting season (orientation)
In busy areas of Schleswig-Holstein, dogs must be leashed. In forests, dogs may only be taken along on a leash and on forest paths, year-round. On beaches with lots of bathers, dogs are banned from 1 April to 31 October except on designated dog beaches; municipalities may set different rules. Violations can be fined.
