Neustadt in Holstein · Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
The town of Neustadt in Holstein is a port town on the Bay of Lübeck. The Neustadt in Holstein dog beach is located below the Schön Klinik at Kiebitzberg. This beach is a narrow natural beach that has not been developed further for tourism. The Neustadt dog beach is designated by beach access points 15 and 16. Unfortunately, this dog beach is poorly maintained and cleaned. Accordingly, stones and algae are often present. It is also pointed out that at this section the water of the Baltic Sea gets deeper fairly quickly. One advantage of this dog beach is that a parking lot is available right near the beach. This way you can make a quick detour to the dog beach. According to our information, there are no restrooms in the immediate vicinity. The district of Pelzerhaken in particular has been developed for tourism. Here you will find the Pelzerhaken dog beach and the Rettin dog beach. | Parking: approx. 100 meters | Beach fee person/dog: No/No | Beach/water type: sandy beach/gets deep fairly quickly | Restrooms available: No | Food and drink: No | Leash required on beach: No
In busy areas of Schleswig-Holstein, dogs must be leashed. In forests, dogs may only be taken along on a leash and on forest paths, year-round. On beaches with lots of bathers, dogs are banned from 1 April to 31 October except on designated dog beaches; municipalities may set different rules. Violations can be fined.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
