Description
The Hundestrand Timmendorfer Strand is located in the village of Timmendorfer Strand, a well-visited seaside resort on the Schleswig-Holstein Baltic coast. In the summer months, many activities take place at Timmendorfer Strand. The Hundestrand Timmendorfer Strand is located in the northern part of the municipality, near the Ostseetherme. Since parking spaces right nearby are scarce, you should use one of the parking lots of the Ostsee Therme. The dog beach is "fenced off" from the other beach sections. Visitors describe the beach as a flat sandy beach with little algae, but it can quickly become overcrowded during the season. Public restrooms are located near the dog beach. Drinks can be purchased nearby. In fall, winter and spring, from the beginning of October to the end of March, you may also enter the other beach sections with your dogs and take a walk or let your dog romp around. Breeding & nesting season (orientation)
In busy areas of Schleswig-Holstein, dogs must be leashed. In forests, dogs may only be taken along on a leash and on forest paths, year-round. On beaches with lots of bathers, dogs are banned from 1 April to 31 October except on designated dog beaches; municipalities may set different rules. Violations can be fined.
