Husum Dog Beach

Husum · Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

Description

The small Husum dog beach is located at the Dockkoogspitze bathing area. The green beach with its grassy area is not far from the center of Husum. The dog beach is located in the northern part of the sunbathing lawn. From the dog beach you have direct access to the mudflats or, depending on the tides, also to the water. Nothing should stand in the way of a walk on the mudflats. During our visit, beach chairs (Strandkörbe) were offered for rent on the green beach. However, we cannot say for sure whether this is always the case. Use of the beach is free of spa tax. As at other beaches on the North Sea coast, dogs must be on a leash everywhere here. Parking is available at the Dockkoog parking lot. | Parking: approx. 300 meters | Beach fee person/dog: No/No | Beach/water condition: grass/mudflats | Restrooms available: Yes | Food and drink: Yes | Wi-Fi at the beach: Unknown | Leash required on the beach: Yes

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

In busy areas of Schleswig-Holstein, dogs must be leashed. In forests, dogs may only be taken along on a leash and on forest paths, year-round. On beaches with lots of bathers, dogs are banned from 1 April to 31 October except on designated dog beaches; municipalities may set different rules. Violations can be fined.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
