Glowe Dog Beach

The municipality of Glowe is located in the northern part of the Baltic Sea island of Rügen in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Glowe's beach has a 2-kilometer-long beach promenade and a large spa facility. Glowe is the starting point of the roughly 8-kilometer-long spit called the “Schaabe”. The Glowe dog beach is located at the northern end of the beach area in Glowe. This dog beach is a natural beach. The dog beach is next to the nudist beach at beach access points 12 to 13. In addition to a visitor's tax for you, you also have to pay a visitor's tax per day for your dog. Public restrooms are about 200 meters away in the direction of the main beach. There you will also find food and drink options. A parking lot is about 500 meters away. During the peak season from June 1 to August 31, your dogs are only allowed at the dog beach during the day (9:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.), and only via the direct beach access points to the dog beach. Outside of these hours, you may also take your dog, on a leash, to the other beach areas. A general leash requirement applies throughout the entire municipality, except at the dog beach, from the beginning of May to the end of October.
