Starrvitz · Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany
Nonnevitz lies in the north of the Wittow peninsula, near Cape Arkona and the Wieker Bodden. The Nonnevitz/Bakenberg dog beach is a natural beach with fine Baltic sand. Access is via a staircase from the steep coast. The parking lot is a bit farther away (over one kilometer). You cannot expect tourist infrastructure at this natural beach. Most visitors come from the nearby campground. You can also vacation here with your dog. Visitors online describe the dog beach as a quiet and clean dog beach. Only the staircase was too steep for some visitors. Other beaches are the Breege-Juliusruh dog beach and the Glowe dog beach | Parking: approx. 1,200 meters | Beach fee person/dog: No/No | Beach/water type: Sand/Steep coast | Restrooms available: No | Food and drink: No | Leash required on beach: No
Leashes are required statewide at public events such as fairs, in shops and zoos, and anywhere you cannot easily avoid other people. Forests: leash required year-round. Cities and municipalities may set stricter rules; on buses and trains the transport operator's terms apply.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
