Binz · Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

Description

The seaside resort of Prora lies north of Binz and is a district of Binz. Prora is known for the buildings erected between 1935 and 1939 during the Third Reich. Here, 20,000 people were meant to be able to vacation at the same time. Today the imposing buildings, which stretch over a length of 4.5 kilometers along the coast, are a popular destination for outings. In Prora you will find the dog beach at the following beach access points: Parking: approx. 300-800 meters | Beach fee person/dog: Yes/No | Beach/water condition: sandy beach/shallow water | Restrooms available: Yes | Food and drink: Not everywhere | Leash required on the beach: No

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

Leashes are required statewide at public events such as fairs, in shops and zoos, and anywhere you cannot easily avoid other people. Forests: leash required year-round. Cities and municipalities may set stricter rules; on buses and trains the transport operator's terms apply.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
