Zum Wiesgen

Magdeburg · Sachsen-Anhalt, Germany

Description

The “Zum Wiesgen” dog park in Magdeburg’s Ottersleben neighborhood is open 24 hours a day. It offers shaded areas and parking, but no fence or poop bags. The park is popular with dog owners but has also faced criticism for being unclean. Some visitors appreciate its proximity to a stream where dogs can play. There are benches where visitors can relax.

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

From 1 March to 15 July, dogs must be leashed in open countryside, including on adjoining public roads. Violations are administrative offences and can be fined. Individual municipalities may allow exceptions.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
