Hamburg · Hamburg, Germany
The Jenfelder Bach green corridor in Hamburg-Mitte is a park open 24 hours a day that’s great for walking. It offers shaded areas, but there are no fenced-off sections or poop bags. Some visitors have reported negative experiences. Access may be restricted on Wednesdays from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. due to a no-parking zone.
In Hamburg, a leash is required almost everywhere, including forests. Off-leash is only allowed in designated dog exercise areas or with an exemption from the leash rule, but in forests the leash rule applies even then. In some nature reserves, dogs are banned entirely. Follow the signs.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
