Hamburg · Hamburg, Germany
Eichbaumpark in Hamburg-Bergedorf offers a spacious off-leash area for dogs along the Dove Elbe. The meadow is surrounded by trees and provides shade. There is a swimming area for dogs, which may seem small when there are a lot of visitors. The dog park is not fenced in, but poop bags are available. The park is open 24 hours a day.
In Hamburg, a leash is required almost everywhere, including forests. Off-leash is only allowed in designated dog exercise areas or with an exemption from the leash rule, but in forests the leash rule applies even then. In some nature reserves, dogs are banned entirely. Follow the signs.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
