Stelle · Niedersachsen, Germany
Description of the bathing area: Fliegenberg is located on the Elbe in the district of Harburg and belongs to the municipality of Stelle. It is not a classic dog beach but rather a number of bathing spots on the Elbe. During the Lower Saxony breeding and rearing season, a leash requirement applies in Lower Saxony from 01.04. – 15.07. On the Elbe, please always watch out for the current. Don't let the dogs swim out too far. In summer, the individual coves on the Elbe are very busy. Be considerate of other visitors. Rating by Hundestrand.eu: Unfortunately, the Elbe is not quite as clean as the sea. There is always a danger from the current. You should only let your dogs into the water in the coves. Of course, this bathing spot can't be compared with a dog beach on the Baltic Sea, but it is quite well suited for a quick cool-down for the dog. Unfortunately, often very crowded in summer.
From 1 April to 15 July, dogs must be leashed in open countryside, including when swimming.
