Börgerende Dog Beach

Börgerende · Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

Description

The municipality of Börgerende-Rethwisch is located on the Baltic coast in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and on the Conventer See, a former sea bay with a large number of marsh and water birds. To the west of Börgerende lies Germany's oldest seaside resort, Heiligendamm. In the eastern direction you will find Warnemünde. The water quality at this beach is particularly good and is checked repeatedly. As always, the other beach sections are also closed to dogs here during the season. Outside the season, from 10/01 to 03/31, you may also enter the other beach areas with your dogs. Within the village, your dog must please stay on a leash. | Parking: approx. 400 meters | Leash required on the beach: No

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

Leashes are required statewide at public events such as fairs, in shops and zoos, and anywhere you cannot easily avoid other people. Forests: leash required year-round. Cities and municipalities may set stricter rules; on buses and trains the transport operator's terms apply.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
