Alter Elbpark

Hamburg · Hamburg, Germany

Description

The Alte Elbpark in Hamburg-Mitte features a 2,700-square-meter dog park that is open 24 hours a day. There are trash cans and shaded areas. A playground is adjacent to the dog park. The exemption from the leash requirement for certified dogs is not posted.

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

In Hamburg, a leash is required almost everywhere, including forests. Off-leash is only allowed in designated dog exercise areas or with an exemption from the leash rule, but in forests the leash rule applies even then. In some nature reserves, dogs are banned entirely. Follow the signs.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
