Norderstedt · Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
The Rantzauer Forst dog park in Norderstedt is a fenced-in off-leash area for dogs in the woods. It offers shaded spots, wide paths, and nature trails. The area is relatively small, but dogs can run around and play here. When it rains, sturdy shoes are recommended, as the ground can get muddy. The park is open 24 hours a day, but there are no poop bags or parking available directly on the premises.
In busy areas of Schleswig-Holstein, dogs must be leashed. In forests, dogs may only be taken along on a leash and on forest paths, year-round. On beaches with lots of bathers, dogs are banned from 1 April to 31 October except on designated dog beaches; municipalities may set different rules. Violations can be fined.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
