Lübeck · Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
The Medebek dog park in Lübeck’s Sankt Gertrud neighborhood is a large, fenced-in area that is open 24 hours a day. The park offers shade and several entrances, but there is no trash pickup or poop bags provided. Users describe it as a beautiful area with a well-balanced loop trail. The park is particularly suitable for larger dogs.
In busy areas of Schleswig-Holstein, dogs must be leashed. In forests, dogs may only be taken along on a leash and on forest paths, year-round. On beaches with lots of bathers, dogs are banned from 1 April to 31 October except on designated dog beaches; municipalities may set different rules. Violations can be fined.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
