Kummerfeld · Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
The Kummerfeld Dog Forest in Kummerfeld is a fenced-in area that offers dogs plenty of space to play and explore. The expansive forest features numerous trails and natural areas for dogs to run around, complete with tree trunks and bushes. There are shaded areas, but no drinking stations for dogs. Rubber boots are recommended, as the ground can be muddy in places. The dog park is open 24 hours a day and is very popular with dog owners.
In busy areas of Schleswig-Holstein, dogs must be leashed. In forests, dogs may only be taken along on a leash and on forest paths, year-round. On beaches with lots of bathers, dogs are banned from 1 April to 31 October except on designated dog beaches; municipalities may set different rules. Violations can be fined.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
