Hamburg · Hamburg, Germany
The Klosterstern dog park in Hamburg's Eimsbüttel district is open 24 hours a day and offers a space for dogs with shaded areas. However, the park is hard to find, and parking can be a problem.
In Hamburg, a leash is required almost everywhere, including forests. Off-leash is only allowed in designated dog exercise areas or with an exemption from the leash rule, but in forests the leash rule applies even then. In some nature reserves, dogs are banned entirely. Follow the signs.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
