Hamburg · Hamburg, Germany
The dog park on Habermannstraße in Hamburg-Bergedorf offers dogs plenty of space to run around. It is open 24 hours a day, but has no fence or shade. There are no special amenities such as poop bags or parking. The field is appreciated by dog owners, even though there are concerns about the use of a portion of the grounds as a playground. User opinions are overwhelmingly positive, as they praise the opportunity to let their dogs run freely.
In Hamburg, a leash is required almost everywhere, including forests. Off-leash is only allowed in designated dog exercise areas or with an exemption from the leash rule, but in forests the leash rule applies even then. In some nature reserves, dogs are banned entirely. Follow the signs.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
