Hamburg · Hamburg, Germany
The dog park in Elisabethgehölz in Hamburg-Mitte is open 24 hours a day. It features a fenced-in area where dogs can play and run around safely. Poop bags are provided to help keep the area clean. There are also shaded areas, but there is no parking nearby.
In Hamburg, a leash is required almost everywhere, including forests. Off-leash is only allowed in designated dog exercise areas or with an exemption from the leash rule, but in forests the leash rule applies even then. In some nature reserves, dogs are banned entirely. Follow the signs.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
