Eichsfeld South Rest Area
Kirchworbis · Thüringen, Germany
Description
The Eichsfeld Süd rest area in Kirchworbis features a fenced-in dog park that is open 24 hours a day. The fence around the dog park is too low in some places, allowing small dogs to squeeze through. There are no poop bags available, but parking is available. The area is a good spot for a quick break during a drive to let dogs run around.
Breeding & nesting season (orientation)
In Thuringia, dogs must be kept on a leash in forests year-round (Section 6(2) of the state forest act); hunting dogs on duty are exempt. Outside forests, municipalities may have their own rules. Follow signs and local bylaws.
This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
