Dorum-Neufeld Dog Beach

Dorum-Neufeld · Niedersachsen, Germany

Description

The seaside resort of Dorum-Neufeld lies on the Lower Saxony North Sea coast, directly between Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven. Dorum-Neufeld's main tourist attractions include the “Oberfeuer Eversand” lighthouse, which offers a magnificent view over the North Sea and the Wurster Land, and the picturesque shrimp cutter harbor. Dorum-Neufeld offers its guests a wide variety of vacation activities: besides water sports such as swimming, sailing or windsurfing, guided mudflat hikes are also offered. Dorum-Neufeld is also well suited for bike tours, Nordic walking, inline skating or horseback riding. Several restaurants and shopping options take care of your needs. You can reach Dorum-Neufeld by car via the A27, exit Dorum-Neuenwalde. Overall, a very well-kept dog beach with beach chairs and direct access to the mudflats. Dog showers are available. Unfortunately, it is unclear what the leash rules are. During our visit, we asked directly at the spa center, where we were told that there is no leash requirement at the dog beach. A phone call on this topic to the spa administration brought no clarification, because there we were told that a leash is required. Near the wave pool. May 1 to approx. September 15: During the regular ticket office and wave pool opening hours, we ask you to use only this dog beach. After the wave pool closes, the entire beach can be used for walks. Before and after the main season: In the pre-season and post-season, you can use the entire beach at any time. Update from 06/17/2016: According to the spa administration, a leash is required at the dog beach and, of course, in the Wadden Sea. For off-leash exercise, a 2,500 m² off-leash area is available. Nearby are also the Sahlenburg dog beach and the Butjadingen Burhave dog beach. Visitor review and description: Anna visited the dog beach and writes: From the parking lot, a path leads along the beach promenade to the dog beach, which is located at the end of the path. Nearby there is a beach hall with a beach pool. When it is closed, the entire beach section can be used with your dog. A leash is required on the beach and in the mudflats. Waste bags and a shower as well as beach chairs are available. Restrooms and refreshments are available in the beach hall, which is located near the parking lot. | Parking: approx. 500 meters | Beach fee person/dog: Yes/No | Beach/water type: Grass/Mudflats | Restrooms available: Yes | Food and drink: Yes | Leash required on beach: Yes
