Dog walking area Hohnstein (Sachsenbergsiedlung)

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

Saxony has no uniform statewide leash rule for forests and open countryside. In hunting districts you must not let your dog run free unsupervised; violations can be fined. Stricter rules may apply locally, for example in protected areas or municipalities, so follow the signs.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
