Dog walking area Heidenheim an der Brenz

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

Baden-Württemberg has no statewide leash rule for the breeding season and no general leash requirement in forests. Your dog may only run free if you have it safely under control and can recall it at any time. In forests it must not run free near playgrounds, play and sunbathing lawns or water-treading facilities (administrative offence). Cities and municipalities may set their own rules, so follow signs and local bylaws.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
