Description
Hundeinsel is a popular off-leash area for dogs in Cologne. According to Google reviews, the park offers a beautiful, green setting with access to water and plenty of space for dogs to run around. The specially designed paths are well-planned and ensure a pleasant experience for dogs and their owners. However, the area is also used by cyclists and joggers, which some visitors find disruptive. The cleanliness and upkeep of the island are highlighted positively, while others criticize the size of the off-leash area.
Breeding & nesting season (orientation)
From 1 March to 30 June (breeding, birthing and rearing season), a leash is required in hunting districts, i.e. in forests and open countryside, unless your dog reliably stays on the path and you have it safely under control. Violations can be fined. Municipalities may have their own rules.
