Dagebüll Dog Beach

Dagebüll · Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

Description

The recreational resort of Dagebüll is located on the Schleswig-Holstein North Sea coast, about 20 km south of the Danish border. The Dagebüll dog beach is a green beach, which is a grass meadow. It is located south of the Dagebüll harbor and lies next to the nudist beach. From the dog beach you have access to the mudflats and the North Sea. Whether there is water depends on the tides. At the dog beach, on the mudflats, or on the dikes, your dogs must be kept on a leash in Dagebüll. On the dike crest, with its red-brick path, dogs may walk on a leash. In the off-season from October 1 to March 31, you may walk with your dogs at the water/mudflats on the dike promenade. There are showers at the Dagebüll dog beach. Restrooms are unfortunately a bit farther away. | Parking: approx. 500 meters | Beach fee person/dog: Yes/Yes | Beach/water type: Grass/mudflats | Restrooms available: Yes | Food and drink: Yes | Wi-Fi at the beach: Unknown | Leash required at the beach: Yes

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

In busy areas of Schleswig-Holstein, dogs must be leashed. In forests, dogs may only be taken along on a leash and on forest paths, year-round. On beaches with lots of bathers, dogs are banned from 1 April to 31 October except on designated dog beaches; municipalities may set different rules. Violations can be fined.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
