Dog park

Aschberg

Hamburg · Hamburg, Germany

Description

The Aschberg dog park in Hamburg-Mitte is a 23,000 m² off-leash area surrounding a former swimming pool. The area is not marked with signs, is frequently used by the neighboring animal shelter, and is not fenced in. It offers shade, but there are no poop bags or parking available. The park is open 24 hours a day.

Breeding & nesting season (orientation)

In Hamburg, a leash is required almost everywhere, including forests. Off-leash is only allowed in designated dog exercise areas or with an exemption from the leash rule, but in forests the leash rule applies even then. In some nature reserves, dogs are banned entirely. Follow the signs.

This is a simplified overview, not legal advice. For binding rules in 2026 where you live and walk your dog, contact your local authority (e.g. municipal public order office).
