Altenbruch Dog Beach

Cuxhaven · Niedersachsen, Germany

Description

Altenbruch is a district of the city of Cuxhaven. The village lies directly at the mouth of the Elbe in the district of Cuxhaven. It is located near Otterndorf. A well-known landmark is the lighthouse, the "Dicke Berta", at the mouth of the Elbe. The small tourist area also offers a small area for visitors with dogs, which is called the Hundestrand Altenbruch. However, this is only a narrow section with a few beach chairs, right at the waterline. There is not much space in this small area. A leash is required at the Hundestrand Altenbruch. Access to the water is actually not possible, as stones have been piled up along the water. In general, though, entering the water is also not advisable, as there is a strong current there. At the time of our visit, a few beach chairs could be rented at the Hundestrand Altenbruch. Public restrooms are available nearby. For children, there is a playground with a small swimming area near the dog beach. For something to eat and drink, there is a restaurant nearby. A limited number of parking spaces are available nearby. For a vacation with a dog in Altenbruch, there are various offers to choose from. You can get a complete overview of the region in our article Cuxhaven with Dog. Other beaches nearby are the Hundestrand Otterndorf and the Hundestrand Sahlenburg. | Parking: approx. 100 meters | Beach fee person/dog: Yes/No | Beach/water conditions: Grass/(Wadden Sea mudflats) | Restrooms available: Yes | Food service: Yes | Leash required on the beach: Yes
